USATF Mountain, Ultra, Trail Council Announces 2018 National Championship Races

USA Track & Field’s Mountain Ultra Trail (MUT) Council announces the following races scheduled to host National Championships in 2018. $55,000 in prize money will be awarded and medals will be presented to the top 10 overall USATF athletes and top three in each 5 year masters’ age group starting at 40. The MUT Council chairperson is American Trail Running Association (ATRA) Executive Director Nancy Hobbs and ATRA’s Director of Marketing, Richard Bolt, is a member of the USATF MUT Executive Committee.

Here is a list of the 2018 USATF National Championships in mountain, ultra & trail running confirmed as of November 16, 2017. *Tussey Mountainback was confirmed at the 2017 USATF Annual Meeting in Columbus, Ohio on December 2nd.

  • March 4 – 50 km RoadCaumsett State Park 50K – Lloyd Harbor NY – $3000 prize money – Race Director: Carl Grossbard / Mike Polansky – Championship Liaison: Richard Bolt
  • July 8 – MountainLoon Mountain Race – Lincoln, NH – $3000 prize money – Race Director: Paul Kirsch/Chris Dunn – Championship Liaison: Richard Bolt **This event will also host the NACAC Mountain Running Championships and host the team selection for the 2018 US Mountain Running Team.
