Just after the seasonal debut of many athletes last weekend in Leffe (Trofeo Valli Bergamasche Mountain relay) in a few days will be staged another classic of Italian Mountain Running. We are talking about the Nasego Trophy. Double race, Vertical on Saturday and Long Distance on Sundays.
After presenting a part of the international cast that will meet soon on the paths of Casto we get deep inside the organization focusing on the schedule, events and course-tracks.
Saturday morning there will be the first appointment: at 10:00 o’clock, the Vertical race will start with departure from the center of Casto (420m) and arrival above the Rifugio Nasego (1420m) with a track of 3.7km. We remind you that it will be possible to pick up the race bibs and race packages attached as early as 7:30 am at the Sports Palace of Casto.
The women’s race will start first and then, at 10:45, the men’s race. The official award ceremony will be held at the ABCF Comero sports center at 2.30 pm. at the big tent mounted at the Famea sports center to get the most out of the morning tension, the athletes will be invited to the “Pucia la Nasego (literary: “push up the Nasego”) Fest/Party: starting at 8.00 pm there will be an aperitif accompanied by a DJ set with the presentation of the Elite on the Long Distance Race. After that, at 21:00 the exceptional guests of the evening will be the twins Bernard and Martin Dematteis who will tell about their record on the mount Monviso. The theme of the evening will concern the increasingly developing profession of the off-road athlete.
At the end of Saturday evening the X time of the 2018 Nasego Trophy will start: 21.42km of track with a positive difference in height of 1336 m. The start will be at 9:30 am with departure from Casto and arrival at the ABCF Comero Sports Center, followed by the start of the non-competitive 12 km race.
The athletes will be rewarded at 2.30 pm and the free shuttle bus will be available throughout the weekend. The single registration fee of € 30 will remain unchanged until the end of the registration which will be 10 May 2018.
