I’m starting to think about MdS as a restful vacation with a bit running thrown in. I’m not underestimating the desert...
Roly poly birthdays 290/365
LizaPancake breakfast in bed for the birthday girl.
And a birthday party with lots and lots of little girls and a few older brothers. (Not pictured: 6 more little girls.)
Eliot’s amazing piñata:
And check out the heart cakes I made! Strawberry cakes with strawberry frosting. The little boy at the end took a bite and told me loudly that he didn’t like it at all. His mom was pretty embarrassed. I told her I was very offended as I had spent all of $1.54 on this creation. The party was from 3:30-5:30pm. And I survived the mom scene. Then we cleaned everything up and I hopped in a Lyft to the airport to fly to Tucson to teach this weekend. Ahhhhhhh!!!
What’s making me happy: The kids loved the nature scavenger hunt game I made up.
The roly poly bugs were more of a challenge than I expected.
Running: Couldn’t get it done with the cake, party and flying to Tucson. Excuses, excuses.

Happy birthday Ruby!
(I thought it was tomorrow….)
The cakes look very pretty, and no doubt they were tasty. And the scavenger hunt is very clever – I like that it’s not “stuff” they’re hunting for.
That pinata rocks! Is Eliot doing one for the camp? 🙂
Safe travels….
