American Trail Running Association corporate member, XTERRA Colorado Trail Run Series, will host the third annual XTERRA Trail Run Castle Rock at Colorado’s beautiful Phillip S. Miller Park located in Castle Rock, CO just 30 minutes north of Colorado Springs and 30 minutes south of Denver, on Sunday August 5th, 2018. The race distances include 20K, 10K, 5K and a Kid’s 3K Fun Run. At an altitudes of 6,200 feet, these trail races will take you on a roller coaster of freshly blazed, soft surface-trails that are a part of the the city’s largest-ever park project.

The races will begin near Castle Rock’s state-of-the-art Miller Athletic Complex, a $30 million venue. The race courses will showcase the newly constructed trails in Phillip S. Miller Park and highlight the single and double track trails. Be sure to take in the impressive views of the surrounding scenic views of Castle Rock as the trails twist and wind thanks to course designer and manager, our own Outreach & Partnership Specialist, Peter Maksimow. You might also have the opportunity to line up with world-class runners like 2016 World Mountain Running Champion, Joe Gray, also a multile-time XTERRA Trail World Champion.

Cup-Free Racing! Surveys shows most runners dislike paper cups at race aid stations. That is why XTERRA Trail Run Colorado Series have gone Cup-Free. That means less litter, trash and waste.

Cup-free racing is as easy as 1-2-3:

  1. Bring your favorite personal hydration device. XTERRA handheld bottle, hydration belt/flask, or any other refillable container
  2. Fill it at every aid station
  3. Drink, it’s that easy

There are plenty or things to do for the entire family. Philip S. Miller Park’s outdoor space includes a playground with 60-foot slide, a 200-step incline, a turf field, the Headrush Towers’ 40-foot and 80-foot towers that kids can climb up, repel down, or even free fall from, as well as a network of zip-lines. Come race and then enjoy the park!
