Dave: Enjoy as Nathan Jackson of Texas shares his race winning scamper at the Potawatomi 150 Mile Trail Run on the challenging McNaughton Park trail system in the state of Illinois. 150 miles. Simply typing that conjures up images of some lost soul traveling a desolate landscape searching for an oasis. Fortunately for me, there […]

Very funny PSA from Emily at mile 92 of the Salt Flats 100 mile ultramarathon this past weekend.  Pretty sure she barfs at the end. Would you run 53 miles through the Scottish Highlands in a full Spiderman costume? And alright, 5:45:06 isn’t very quick for a road marathon, but …

On Saturday, April 25th, a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Kathmandu and caused multiple avalanches on Mt. Everest. At the time of this recording, 22 climbers are reported dead and over 3500 people total. These numbers will almost certainly rise. In this time of crisis, donations are needed to help in the recovery effort. Coincidentally, we at MTNmeister were planning on launching a "support" page for the podcast's benefit that we had been planning for the last couple of months. Asking for listener donations seems wrong when we compare it to donations to Nepal. Should we still do it? How should we think about charitable giving? This episode addresses these difficult questions.

They filed in. The seasoned pros knew where to go and lost no time heading into a dark room. Where it led I don’t know. Some ended up upstairs. I saw race-favorite Shalane Flanagan’s chiseled and determined face stretching on the balcony above. I’d been there for an hour and a half already, in the … …

Ultramarathoning: A dying sport.  Here’s a great throwback article from 1983 that shows the cyclical nature of our sport. Two weeks after setting a new CR at Lake Sonoma 50, Alex Varner headed to Boston to run a quick 26.2. Here’s his report. Speaking of Boston, here’s Desi Linden’t ultimate playlist. …

Rachel Osijo lives in Hong Kong. On January 17, 2015, she finished the Vibram Hong Kong 100k ultramarathon and became an ultrafinisher. Congratulations Rachel! Fun fact: Runners in this race are warned to watch out for monkeys, who are likely to pounce and steal food from you. Rachel didn't have any food stolen, but she did see a wild boar on the course.
